Great Opening Day for Haney Farmers Market 2012

There were lots of people out in Maple Ridge’s Memorial Peace Park for the opening of the Haney Farmers Market today.  The entertainment was superb and the smokies yummy.  I found a watercress plant at Red Barn Plants and some farm fresh eggs from Riverside.  The family feasted on Sweet Thea’s cookies at the Farmers Market Members’ Special price of $10 for the dozen.  The Fraserview Art Group held an exhibition in the cool shade of the Bandstand.  The Society for Creative Anachronism held court in the eastern half of the park with its Medieval Festival.  We enjoyed their costumes and enthusiasm for their project.  The Little Black Box Photobooth looked like fun but we did not have time to stop and play.  I hope that they come to the Market again so we can investigate more thoroughly.  It was a great opening day.
