Port Coquitlam Farmers Market at Leigh Square

We had a chance to stop in at the Port Coquitlam Farmers Market at Leigh Square this past Thursday and were really impressed.  The location is cozy and dynamic at the same time.  The live music supports a festive feeling while the vendors put on a great show of their products – everything from fruits and vegetables through preserves to jewelry and crafts.  Running from 3 to 7 p.m, it is a good place to stop on your way home from work on Thursdays during the summer.  Located in the municipal centre of Port Coquitlam it feels like a hidden treasure, tucked away from the exhaust fumes of Route One, Lougheed Highway and the Mary Hill Bypass.  We encourage everyone to check it out and discover a piece of the Lower Mainland (Metro Vancouver?) that many of us might bypass in our rush to somewhere else.

You should look into the Leigh Square Community Arts Village while you are there as it is also quite interesting.  We have been really impressed by the level and quality of programming for young people’s summer camps through the Arts Village in PoCo.
